Don't measure your waist. Measure a belt you already own and like the fit of.
Lay it flat. Measure from where the pin rests on the front of the buckle frame, to the hole you use. That number, in centimetres, is your size.
Pick the closest size. If you need a strap longer than the sizes listed, get in touch. We can source longer straps in some colours, but not all.
The buckles are raw brass. No lacquer, no coating. A coated buckle looks fine until it scratches. After that the brass only oxidises where the coating broke, so the scratch shows up as a dark mark and the buckle gets worse the more you wear it.
Raw brass oxidises all over but polishes up on the parts your clothes rub against, while the recesses stay dark. The buckles look better the more you wear them.
If it gets darker than you like, a little Brasso on a cloth brings it back.
For the leather, don't let it get too wet and keep it away from direct heat. Don't store it in the sun. If it dries out, work a thin coat of conditioner or balm in with a cloth once or twice a year. It'll darken and soften as you wear it.
